A 5,000 reward has been offered after a robbery at a supermarket in Market Harborough at the weekend.

The incident took place at about 4.27pm on Sunday January 29 at the Spar shop in Coventry Road when two men entered the store and threatened members of staff with a bladed weapon.

The men then stole cash and some alcohol and made off across Coventry Road towards Warntaby Street. No one was hurt during the incident.

The suspects have been described as being in their mid to late 20s, about 6 tall and of medium build.

A reward has been offered by the Spar Store. A spokesperson for Spar, said: We support our staff fully and in conjunction with this we would like to offer a 5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the robbery in Market Harborough.

Detective Constable Henry Henderson is investigating the incident, he said: Weve had a good response to earlier appeals but we are hoping this reward will encourage people who havent yet come forward to do so.

This was quite rightly a very distressing incident for both the staff and the customers who were in the shop at the time.

We have taken statements from people who were in the shop and around the area at the time but we believe there were some customers in the shop at the time who have not yet spoken to the police, we would urge these people to come forward as they may be able to provide vital information.

We would also ask anyone who saw the suspects acting suspiciously around the area before the incident or saw them running away from the scene after the incident to contact us.

It is vitally important that we speak to as many people as possible so we can identify and locate the people responsible. Any calls received will be treated in confidence.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 2199 Henry Henderson on 101*, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2199. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free** and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.

* Calls to 101 cost 15p for the entire call from both mobile phones and land lines

** Please note some mobile phone service providers may charge for this call.
