Appeal to trace offender after two indecent assaults in Broughton Astley
Officers from Harborough local policing unit are appealing for public help after two indecent assaults in Broughton Astley.
The most recent incident took place at about 9pm on Tuesday March 22 in Byre Crescent when a 20-year-old woman was approached by a man who touched her inappropriately.
The offender then made off into an alleyway which leads into Berford Close.
There was a similar incident at about 6pm on Tuesday February 15 when a 14-year-old girl was approached by a man in Burnside Road who touched her inappropriately before running away.
The description of the offender in both incidents is similar and the incidents are being linked.
The offender has been described as being about 17-20 years-old, 57-58 tall and of medium build. He was wearing Henley branded clothing during both incidents.
During the incident on March 22 he was wearing a dark hooded top with a large yellow Henley logo either on the front or side.
During the incident on February 15 the offender was wearing dark jeans with the words Henley going down the left hand side of the leg, dark hooded top, with the hood pulled up over his head and dark shoes or trainers.
PC Guy Hubbard is investigating one of the incidents, he said: We have been carrying out enquiries in the area to try and identify and trace the person responsible, although the victims werent hurt during the incidents it was extremely distressing for them.
I would urge anyone who recognises the description or the distinctive clothing and knows someone with similar clothing to contact the police. I would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incidents or has been approached in similar circumstances but havent reported their incident to the police.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1286 Guy Hubbard on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officers identification number 1286.
