Record number of good/outstanding schools

A record number of Leicestershire schools have been judged as good or outstanding by Ofsted inspectors.
Over the last year, 71 per cent of schools inspected were in the top two categories up from 69 per cent the year before.
Leicestershire County Councils Cabinet member for children and young people, Ivan Ould, said: Id like to praise the teachers, pupils and governors of these schools and the council staff who support them, for achieving such impressive results.
Weve managed to sustain and improve our excellent performance, despite Ofsted pledging even more rigorous inspections this year.
A total of 81 Leicestershire schools were inspected by Ofsted over the last 12 school year. Of these:
13 were outstanding
45 were good
22 were satisfactory and two were inadequate.
Leicestershire is performing better than the national average figure for good or outstanding inspection reports, which is 64 per cent.
The outstanding schools were:
Sir John Moore School, Appleby Magna (North West Leicestershire)
Bushloe High, Wigston; and Brocks Hill Primary, Oadby (Oadby and Wigston)
Saint Marys, Bitteswell; Gilmorton Chandler, Lutterworth; and Welland Park, Harborough (Harborough district)
Lady Jane Grey, Groby; Saint Peters, Hinckley; Market Bosworth High School (Hinckley and Bosworth)
St Michael and All Angels, Rearsby; Bishop Ellis, Thurmaston; and The Martin High, Anstey (Charnwood).

A record number of Leicestershire schools have been judged as good or outstanding by Ofsted inspectors.
