Police in Harborough are appealing for witnesses after reports that two houses in Thurnby, have been burgled.

The first incident happened between 5.30pm on Saturday April 11 and 6.45pm on Sunday April 12, when the owner of the property, on Station Road, returned home to find that the kitchen window had been forced open and items inside had been taken.

Items stolen from the house include a black Ipod Touch and a white Ipod Nano, a black Advent laptop, a silver Canon DC311 camcorder, a pink Nintendo DS, Nintendo WII gaming equipment and a quantity of cash.

The second incident happened between 8.50pm on Monday April 13 and 7.45am on Tuesday April 14, when a property on Grange Lane had been broken into.

Thieves had forced entry through a door at the rear of the property. The owners of the house found that a number of items had been stolen, including a 42" Panasonic Plasma screen television, a Pioneer DVD player and amplifier, a white Apple IMac computer and a white Mini Mac. Also stolen was a Viewsonic computer an Apple webcam and an Ipod docking station.

PC Claire Murray, the officer investigating the incident, said: "These people have been left shocked and feeling unsafe in their own homes and this is why we are appealing to the public for help.

"There have been a high number of electrical goods stolen from the properties and so we would like all electrical goods dealers to be aware and vigilant of anyone attempting to sell any of the items described to them. Should you come across any of these items we would like you to contact us.

"We are also appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incidents to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 4445 Claire Murray on (Leicester) 0116 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer and when prompted key in his identification number 4445. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
