Appeal for witnesses after arson in Market Harborough

Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident of arson at a building in Harborough.

The incident happened at around 1.30am on Friday March 13 at a premise on High Street.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately after boarding from a window on the building was removed and a pile of burning papers were pushed inside. No one was injured in the incident and there was minimal damage to the building.

PC Guy Hubbard, the officer investigating the incident, said: "Fortunately fire-fighters managed to contain the fire before it got out of hand.

"We are not sure at this stage what the motive was but we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity on High Street on Friday night to please get in touch."

"Even the smallest details can be help with an investigation so I would ask anyone with information to get in touch."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1286 Guy Hubbard on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1286.
