William Caxton (c. 1415~1422 – c. March 1492)  was born in Kent and became a merchant, diplomat, writer and printer. He is famous as he was the first person to work as a printer in England and was responsible for importing the first printing press into England. Subsequently he also became the first person to become a book retailer.
